Περιγραφή

This book by Elias Pantelides presents the laconic tales, the short biographies of 16 Cypriots. A Maronite, a British, 4 Turkish Cypriots, 10 Greek Cypriots speak out. All Cypriots. Their years of birth range from 1939 to 1959, but their 1974 memories are durable and long-lasting, as if yesterday was today. * In 1974 Cyprus suffered a lot. It was a catastrophic dark period which cannot become clearer unless one takes the painful trip down memory lane, back to 1964, 1960 and 1955. * Every tale is presented with emphasis on the scorching summer of 1974 when Cyprus faced a terrible double tragedy and many people witnessed a small part of it. * All 16 Cypriots, who speak out in this book, expressed their deep love for the land of Cyprus; irrespective of their ethnicity, mother language, gender, religion or atheism, or political convictions. All have been hoping for a united, peaceful, safe Cyprus.
