The Cavafyian poetic atmosphere, consisting of beauty, love, youth
and historicity, is what inspired Tasos Makratos, in his new work After Cavafy. The Poet’s Lovers, to speak to us poetically of time in its eternal guise, which comes into intense conflict with human existence, for those lovers who must struggle with the very excessiveness of their love, through writing which closely scrutinizes the impassioned body. Our poet takes us to the extremes of senses and sentiments.
