Theseus was born during a time when men were still fighting dragons and monsters. He was the hero whose name was to be associated with the most notorious monster of that period - the Minotaur.
Theseus`s father was Aegeus, king of Athens. Although he had himself married twice, the king did not have any children. Once he travelled to the kingdom of Troezen, where, as a guest of the king, he met his daughter Aethra. Enchanted by her beauty, he remained with her for months. Then the time came for him to return to Athens.
Before leaving, Aethra, full of excitement, revealed some unexpected news. [...]
