Περιγραφή

[...] With the help of this booklet, we propose two walks so that the visitor can wander in and marvel at the Roman and Early Christian monuments that continually alternate each other and very often stand on the site of one another.

In the first walk round the Museum, you will wander in the central walled archaeological site. It is the walk marked in green on the map and which is presented in detail on the pages with the green indication.

In the second walk round the Proasteion (the Suburb), to the norh of the fortified city, you will wander round the outstanding Monument of Augustus` Victory, the Theatre and the Stadium where the Actia Games were held. It is the walk marked in brown on the map and which is presented in detail on the pages with the brown indication.

The concise description of the routes-walks is written by Mrs. Helen Synesiou. The brief historical outline of the Roman and the Byzantine eras of Nicopolis is written by Mrs. Maria Skandali and Mrs. Athena Konstantaki respectively. The same archaeologists describe the Roman and Early Christian monuments that the visitor will come across in both walks. [...]
