The aim of this volume is therefore to present to the international public a selection of artists with a fruitful, stable, and recognizable presence on the Greek and international art scene over the recent decades, and to make this selection as representative as possible. We would like to believe that the present volume will mark the beginning of a wide-ranging and systematic spotlighting of Greek art abroad, and remain convinced that such a strategy can only hope to succeed if it is fully backed up by the relevant literature.
